Hahaha. I'm on a never ending quest to find my job.
I looked up the PS VITA yesterday and it looks epic. Got loads of game, boss and character ideas from just watching the ads.
Then on a negative not, I also heard about the disaster that is "The New (nothing like the original) TMNT" and asked myself... 'Why?", as if the film industry was not already busy ruining good books and games. I am all up for "wouldn't it be cool if...?" in stories, since questioning, thinking and just wondering are great for the creative mind. Wonderlust for the frikin WIN!! But I think a line must be drawn somewhere, and unless the line is drawn, we leave our favourite stories and characters open to all kinds of "conceptual rape".
Adapting a story for the sake of time (as with the Harry Potter films) or modernising it for ticket sales (Clash of the Titans) is one thing, but when you change the key concepts or key principals of a story, that is just not okay. Its like asking if the Aquaman would not have been better by making Arthur Curry (aquaman) a Gecko who was raised on Mars?!? It would destroy the story.
